Algorithm design for researchers

Give the issue the most precise definition you can.

Make a list of all the steps required to resolve the issue. No decision made during the steps should be based on the performer’s subjective judgement; all necessary data should have been gathered during the preceding steps.

By developing a reference implementation and using it with actual cases, you can test the steps. (Optional)

The initial phase of an algorithm’s design is the most difficult. The likelihood of the algorithm being useful is zero if you are unable to define the issue or determine without a doubt whether you have found a solution.

PhDs aren’t for “everyone,” but rather for a select few who 1) understand why they want a PhD and 2) are capable of dealing with the requirements (in computer science or any other field). In the case of computer science, a BSc in CS can do almost everything a PhD can. However, a PhD may be pursued for a variety of reasons, including intellectual curiosity or the desire to pursue a career that requires a PhD. (academia or research industry).
